Swap Requests

Overview

Swap Requests let you trade call slots with another resident. This feature is available in Call scheduling mode only.

How swaps work

Every swap goes through a three-step approval flow:

  1. You create a swap request, selecting the slot you want to give up and the slot you want to take from another resident.
  2. The other resident reviews your request and either accepts or rejects it.
  3. A chief or admin gives final approval. Once approved, the schedule is automatically updated for both residents.

If either the other resident or the chief/admin rejects the request, the swap does not happen and the schedule stays as-is.

Creating a swap request

  1. Go to Swap Requests from the dashboard.
  2. Click New Swap Request.
  3. Select the call slot you want to give up.
  4. Select the resident you want to swap with.
  5. Select their slot that you want to take.
  6. Add an optional note explaining the reason for the swap.
  7. Click Submit.

Responding to incoming swaps

If another resident wants to swap with you, you will see their request under Incoming Requests. Review the details — your slot, their slot, and any note they included — then click Accept or Reject.

Open swaps

The Open Swaps tab shows unclaimed swap requests that any eligible resident can pick up. If you see one that works for your schedule, you can claim it directly.

Both the requesting resident AND a chief or admin must approve before a swap takes effect. This two-step approval ensures schedule integrity and prevents conflicts.
