Time Off Requests

Overview

Navigate to Time Off Requests from the dashboard or the Quick Access menu. This page lets you submit, track, and manage all of your time-off requests in one place.

Request types

Depending on what your program enables, you may see some or all of the following request types:

  • Vacation — Full days off from all duties. Uses your program’s allotted vacation days.
  • No-Call — Request to not be scheduled for call on specific dates. You may still be on your regular rotation.
  • Wish Off — A soft preference. The scheduler will try to honor it, but there is no guarantee.
  • Need Off — A stronger request. The scheduler will prioritize this over wish-off requests.
  • Request On — Ask to be scheduled on specific dates (useful if you want to front-load calls or cover for a peer).

How to submit a request

  1. Click New Request.
  2. Select the request type (Vacation, No-Call, Wish Off, Need Off, or Request On).
  3. Choose your date range.
  4. Add an optional reason to give your admin context.
  5. Click Submit.

Tracking your requests

After submitting, each request shows one of three statuses:

  • Pending — Waiting for review by a chief or admin.
  • Approved — Your request has been accepted and will be reflected in the schedule.
  • Rejected — Your request was not approved. Check the response for details.

You will receive a notification when your request is reviewed.

Remaining days

The Time Off Requests page displays how many vacation days and no-call requests you have remaining for the academic year. Keep an eye on this balance before submitting new requests.

Time-off requests should be submitted before the schedule is generated for best results. Requests submitted after a schedule is published may not be honored.
